Campaign walk 005

We have done various bits of charity work.

The picture on the left shows a walk Dominic and Christine carried out in support of Douglas Macmillan Hospice. We raised many hundreds of pounds for this charity.

Dominic has also judged a fun dog show in Norfolk for Prostate Awareness, and this was responsible for amassing a great total of over a thousand pounds for the charity.

In May we did a charity walk up Snowdon for the PDSA. Both Musto and Tweed were sponsored to do this walk which raised well into 4 figures of sponsorship money. However the week before the walk Tweed came into season, which meant that she could not do the walk, due to upsetting the other male dogs taking part.

Musto Mel and Dom managed against all odds to complete the feat, albeit without Tweed.

So because of this, when Tweed was well enough to walk again, after her Torsion operation, Mel and Dom vowed to make sure they did the walk with both of the dogs. This time for no charity money, but just to justify the previous donations, we set off on a cold but clearish morning on our own in October 2018, with no map, and just a memory of the previous attempt, and managed to achieve the summit for the second time, albeit in clouds this time. This picture is from this colder attempt.

We survived the ordeal, went back to our digs, for a quick drink and bite to eat, before heading to the beach for another 3 hour walk. A long but rewarding day, and proved the fitness of both our Flatcoats.
