MUSTO

'Toccata of Harlaston with Wetnoses JW ShCM'

Musto was bred by Mrs C and Mr D Jackson, and was born on 31st March 2016.

His Sire is Elmstock Thyme to Dream 'Freddie' owned by Val and Den Orme, and his dam is Solowell Kate 'Molly', and owned by the breeders.

Musto was a very kind and thoughtful gift to us, as we were not actually looking for a puppy at the time, but we had helped his breeder out in many areas of their litter, and it became an offer we could not turn down, albeit with a little return gift promise.

Musto has been an absolute superstar for Mel and myself. We have shared his showing, and he has done equally well for both of us. We campaigned him intensely as a youngster, which culminated in him achieving his Junior Warrant (and in doing so, his stud book-so Crufts qualification for life). He gained his last points in Scotland at Border Union Championship show on Dominic's birthday (17th June 2017)-What a birthday present, on a day that was filled with great sunshine, cakes and wine, but nearly did not happen for us. We woke up at stupid o clock to prepare for the trip to Scotland, and nearly decided to roll over and go back to sleep, but the effort was well worth the trip in the end.

In chasing his Junior Warrant, Musto was well over halfway to gaining his Show Certificate of Merit, so we continued his intense showing and gained this award, when beating a show champion for Best of Breed at Dukeries open show in 2017.

He has achieved many other good placings and results along the way so far. He won the Drum Goblet (FCR Society Junior show trophy), by an absolute mile, despite there being so many good show dogs in his generation. He achieved 2 best Puppy in shows, many other best puppies, and group places, and even won quite a few Best of Breeds and Adult Group placings, including Group 1 at both White Rose and Northwich.

He has since topped this all with a Reserve CC in Scotland at SKC in 2018, when again the trip up ther looked unlikely, as our other dog Tweed had nearly lost her life through torsion the week before. So Dom travelled on his own to Scotland to what turned out to be an amazing day.

So a huge thank you to Mr Eddy Harrison, for thinking so highly of him. But boy did he make us work for it, we moved and moved again, and eventually achieved what Mel later admits to be her dream. An RCC was above and beyond anything she dreamt of dreaming for in the show ring, so although taking a rest from the ring for a few months, whilst we bring up a litter of puppies, which Musto has sired, he will hopefully be back, giving it another go in the near future. Lets hope he can continue where he left off.
