Spera Vivace Tosca at Levelmoor

aka

FERN

This is Fern. Her Kennel Name is Spera Vivace Tosca at Levelmoor. She was born on 28th May 2000, and was bred by Mrs Shirley De Robbio in Dunblane, Scotland. She was one of 2 puppies.

Her Sire was SH.CH. Benvellyn Excalibur and her Dam was CH Spera Sapphire Vivace.

Fern did quite well as a youngster, and although not having a classical head, did have a fantastic structure. She showed pretty well, and although moving in a workmanlike fashion, was very true and straight. She was a happy girl, and eventually went on to win a Reserve CC under Jose Baddeley. She therefore obviously gained her stud book, but that had already been achieved before her RCC. We bred two litter out of her. The first being to SH.CH. Benvellyn Nephrite Jade of Seaheart, whom at the time had been unused. This litter was amazing and produced some very good stock, including CH Levelmoor Lanosa of Seaheart, aka Maisie, whom still to this day is the top winning FULL CHAMPION bitch of all time in the breed. This litter also included Levelmoor Laurentiana-aka Mia, who also achieved some great results, and Levelmoor Woodwardia at Maseloch, aka Spencer, whom achieved many awards including RCC's without actually achieving the top spots, at a time when SH.CH. Vbos the Kentuckian, aka Jet was wiping the floor with everybody. He did achieve a reserve CC at Crufts behind Jet, in the year that he went on to win Best in Show at Crufts.

Her second litter was to Canalhouse Cool Dude at Flatcharm. We kept a boy from this litter, because we never kept anything in the super first litter. This litter was named after Derby and Oaks winners, which embraced Dom's love of racehorses. We kept Levelmoor Nijinsky, aka Dooley, whom did pretty well in the show ring, being a very good open show dog, and regularly placed at Championship shows. He achieved his Stud book number, and was placed at Crufts on a few occasions, including winning his class and taking part in the lineup that Jet and Spencer took the top honours. A great day for Levelmoor. Fern worked at Crewe Hall, on a shoot and was very good, until one taking getting a whack from an electric fence, which she never forgot. We was a very vocal girl, but very loving and kind. She was announced top brood bitch of 2009, which also helped Dom to become top breeder 2009. A great part of our Kennel, and lines. What a superstar to own!

She went on to live to a ripe old age of 12, but was eventually too weak to continue, and had to be PTS on 3rd October 2012. She did so much for us, and indeed the breed. What a brood bitch she was. We miss her lots.
